ACTING FOR DAYTIME TV Learn from the Master.
Drake Hogestyn (DAYS OF OUR LIVES) shares his experiences, insights, and acting techniques for success on acting for Daytime TV.
A Hollywood talent scout with Columbia Pictures thought he “acted” more like a ball player than played like one and invited him to LA to participate in the “Columbia Pictures National Talent Seach”. 30 prospects were chosen around the country with 5 contracts to be awarded. Under the guidance of Martin Ritt and Sidney Pollack, Drake was offered a Studio contract with Columbia Pictures.
In 1985 he landed what was to be a 3- month role on NBC’s “Days Of Our Lives.” The character was based on Robert Ludlum’s “The Bourne Identity.” Thirty years later, Drake’s character “John Black” is still searching for his true identity.
Drake is married to his childhood sweetheart Victoria, (a true soap opera love story) and have raised their 4 children in Malibu with all attending Webster Elementary and Malibu High.
